It All Depends On What You Need It For – I study healthcare and in my spare time I train physical fitness and martial arts. Sometimes my laundry loads aren’t big enough to justify spending the quarters so I hand wash some of my clothes and occasionally scrubs in the bath tub with a washboard, then take them to the dryer. However, they’re too wet for the dryer so I got this thing to bridge the gap and save money. For my smaller clothes needs this thing works swell; I can easily bang out laundry in under an hour without hard wringing and while it doesn’t get the clothes completely dry, that’s what the dryer is for. That brings me to my title: if you bought this expecting to make your clothes completely dry, it’s not likely to happen unless you gas out trying. This is small time drying for clothes you don’t need right away, which is perfect for me. As for the star rating: while I get this is compact, I wish the foot stand was just a little bigger and padded underneath to keep better footing and control over it because you can generate a *lot* of force. That leads me to a tip: start slow. Machines like this say it takes a few seconds but that’s misleading, maybe a shirt does or some socks but anything more and you have to go at a slower rhythm or you will lose control and it may hurt you if you pull really hard. Once you drain enough water, it will snap into stability and you can go as fast as you have energy. Another tip: depending on how you build laundry loads, some fabrics like nylon or pure polyester or anything moisture wicking will see better results than sweatpants and cotton sweaters.

Portable, compact size, fits a surprising amount of clothes! No electricity needed! – I was looking for non-electric dryers and washers, I compared several of the other options out there, I felt this was the best fit for my needs. The size is compact enough yet it fits a surprising amount of clothes, at one point i placed 5 tops and 1 bottom easily. I attempted to wring out my clothes by hand prior to placing them in this dryer and it still managed to wring out a lot more water! It’s not too heavy for someone who is avg. strength, but I would be careful if it’s an elderly person with muscle weakness. I didn’t have to bend over every time to pull the strings from the floor, just the first time to pull them to my side and then further up. Honestly I got a lot more tired using the non-electric washer I purchased than this dryer. Highly recommend it to others looking for an option to their off grid lifestyle, or even just as a back up in case something happens to your dryer, or for those in an apartment. No comforters will not fit, but pillow cases and maybe a thin throw-over might, depending on how thick or big it is.

If you set it up correctly it does get out excess water nicely. The clothes need to completely fill the container to capacity because it needs to be full to get the cap thing in and work properly. I also have this foam knee pad people use for gardening that I place where my knees hit to stabilize the canister and not get my knees beat up. I don’t use the hose. I place the whole thing in my bathtub and use it there. That is better for me than the hose which requires the canister to sit on an upgrade to drain properly. It is also an excellent cardio workout for your arms and if you are into vibrating which is supposed to be good for the body it does these both really well. Enjoy
