Great looks and operation, but difficult installation. – Love the looks of this unit and in low mode is very quiet. The LEDs produce a good lighting level but they are warm white which throws a yellow cast. Be advised that the installation instructions are bare bones and you need to be an experienced DIYer to put this in. You do need to install support joist framing above the ceiling. The instructions never tell you how to install the lower decorative housing and with 8′ ceilings, it must be put pried on from the bottom just before the hood body. Iif you have 8 foot ceilings, you will have to cut about 10″ off of the upper decorative housing. There is no way to make the electrical and duct connections without shortening the upper housing. This is substantial stainless steel so tin snips or a hack saw will not do it. Use a jig saw with a metal cutting blade.
