Great freezer until it failed – I bought the 1.1 cubic foot version of this early in the pandemic for extra freezer space in a small place. It was great: the size was perfect, it had 2 shelves, and it kept the food properly cold without frost build up. This went on for 2 years, and then it failed without warning. The motor continued to run, so it sounded normal, but inside it went warm and all the food spoiled. I would have expected an appliance like this to last longer, but unfortunately it was well outside the warranty period by then.

Almost perfect little freezer – Who hasn’t needed just a little extra freezer space from time to time, especially during the pandemic? But we also didn’t want a larger chest freezer so when we saw this form factor and Kismile’s reviews we went for it. Overall, it’s performing to our expectations and is a great value for the price. It cooled down quickly, holds the temperature steady, it’s very quiet and the size is just right.

good small freezer – like everyone else, had been looking for a small freezer bc eating more at home currently. it is more expensive than it typically would be (in past month, have seen price vary from 369-399), still more expensive than the same-sized midea one, but after reading all the midea reviews about dents and some units not working, was hopeful that higher cost would be worth it. so far, so good. arrived earlier than estimated. stores quite a bit despite the immovable racks (i actually returned the 2 cu ft one before it shipped, their customer response was great). rather quiet. not a single dent. very easy to set up (despite it being 50 lbs, just slide in and lift box cover off). as others have mentioned tho – it’s not kismile brand, antarctic star instead (not sure if that’ll make a difference, but no place to register warranty that i can google). another user mentioned putting it in the garage – manual recommends not doing so (at least in places with seasonal wide ranges in temperature). wish there were a little light or noise that would tell me if the door weren’t completely closed, but i know that function isn’t standard even for regular fridges/freezers. worth it for my current needs.

The box did not say “Kismile” the box was labeled “AntarticStar” ok didnt care about names. To my suprise it had no dents on any side. The packing is very thin in on all sides and bottom. I left it untouched in one place for two days. Monday june 28th I plugged it in. Set the thermostat to number ‘4’ and kept it there for the required 24 hours. I put in some ice to test the freezing. It took a bit of time to freeze the cubes solid. June 29th I placed a pre frozen pkg of chicken legs in the freezer to see if they would get soft or thaw out, but no, as of today the legs are still frozen solid.

So far, so good (Updated) – We purchased this frig to take the load off our kitchen freezer. Buying a bottom draw freezer was a big mistake…you never know where anything is or what’s on the bottom. This little frig was easy to unpack and setup. We keep all small and duplicate items here so now we can see what’s in our main freezer. Working well so far, good price too…

That is until I finally got it correct. After an hour of operation my digital infrared thermometer gave a reading of minus 11.9 degrees F. For those fans of the I.U. that is about -24 degrees C. The instructions that came from the company say that this freezer must be defrosted. Also, that the unit has an interior defrost pan that must be drained into a regular pan. So, for all of the differences between what is claimed in the instructions and what I found….This unit is awarded a ‘4’ star overall. I will update this after a few months of operation
