It is better than radiant stoves – It is far easier to keep clean than a radiant stove. It is quick to heat things. The heat of the burner is centered and not really even from center to edge, and the burners all seem to have the same sort of uneven heat footprint. A magnetic coil will always be stronger and hotter in the center, and this is likely true for all induction stoves. A skillet needs to be able to conduct the heat from the center sideways to more evenly distribute it. The heat level is automatically controlled by pulsing the burner on and off for different durations, is noticeable, but does not seem a problem. These aspects of induction cooking are not mentioned in other reviews so one can not compare it to the performance of other induction stoves. Not all induction pans spread heat evenly and those that do tend to be heavy and laminated. The fact that the top does not get hot or cook on spills is a big advantage. It is much easier to keep clean than a radiant stove. It is not flawless, but it is better than our previous GE radiant stove to my taste. It is a good value at this price point. I do not know that a more expensive one would be any better.

There is not a “lower” energy knob really – When you put down the temperature ie : you want it slow and steady, the unit does stop and activate full power to restore the loss of heat. Because the induction “transform” the bottom of your pan as an heating element, the unit, in order to maintain the general temperature will turn ON and Off from 0 to 10!

Great cooktop for the price – We chose this cooktop mainly due to the cost and the cutout space. It has been a learning process that cooktops are not all one standard size (like dishwashers). We found this one fit in the space we had, and had good reviews. The cooktop arrived in probably the best packaging I have seen for an appliance. The install was very easy, and Sincreative includes brackets to lock the cooktop into the countertop. Once installed, the cooktop powered right up, and worked fine. The induction cooktops are fast, and they take almost no time to get to temperature. We did find that our cookware was not 100% induction ready, so we bought new cookware that is. The cooktop looks good, and is much less expensive versus the normal name brands.

Inexpensive, but a lesser technology – We bought this to replace a Bosch induction cooktop. This is much less expensive. But I think I more understand why. This unit works fine, but the way it seems to regulate the settings of zero to 9 is by sending full and constant power for a level 9, but for lower settings, it seems like it’s full power for a few seconds, then no power for a few seconds. If I’m simmering something, it bubbles for a few seconds and then stops. There’s just not a low constant. I’ve managed to work with it and it’s ok, but just seems like a lesser technology.
