Nice looking unit but knobs are cheap and broke within one month – Easy to install with a couple trips to the hardware store to get additional parts. Very nice looking and love the heat! BUT, and it’s a big BUT… in 6 months, all 4 of the knobs have cracked or broken completely. The first was after only one month of use. Not a lot of force or pressure is needed to turn the burners on and off, so it is not about man-handling the knobs. they are just cheap cheap cheap. I called Frigidaire and they are sending replacement knobs free of charge, but they are the same cheap knobs. Hope the company will do an upgrade if they get enough complaints.

Worst StoveTop knobs – I like the stovetop okay, however, the knobs really are the worst. I have spent too much time trying to get a knob that will fit one that is broken. I don’t want plastic and I don’t want to pay a ridiculous price for replacing a defective part.

The control knobs are flimsy. They scratch very easily and begin to fall apart from heat. – The unit was easy enough to install. The instructions are fairly clear and helpful. We find keeping the surfaces clean to be a challenge, but this is likely true with any stainless steel cooktop. Our main complaint is the control knobs. We are careful about not hitting them with cookware etc., but they are already quite scratched. Worse yet the plastic they are composed of has begun breaking down due to the heat. They develop cracks and then slip on the control valve shaft. You may think the gas is off, but it is not which could be dangerous. The knobs should be made out of metal or at least a more durable plastic.

Check for any GAS SMELL – Had it installed and there was a smell of gas and it was not from the connections but was coming from the stove top itself. Had to go without gas for a couple of days until a repairman was able to get here. Two of the knobs were tought to get off but finely fit come off and after taking off the top he found everything was OK so we think the problem was from the two knobs being stuck down. Since then there was no smell of gas. Not a good start to a new cooktop so I hope that is the last problem.
