Nice solid freezer. – Ordered the 3 cubit feet stainless steel freezer which was delivered rather quickly. The box indicated a weight of 60 lbs. I unpacked it by myself ,cleaned it using baking soda , and plugged it in. It has plastic protecting the door front and the sides and top which I removed . There are 2 minor scratches on one side ,which I feel if I traveled that far I’d probably have too.I allowed it to sit empty overnight at the temperature setting of 4. The next morning I transferred food (butter ,fish, shrimp ,lobster, and chicken patties)from the other freezer which remained rock hard on inspection a 1 hour later. I moved the temperature down to the #3 setting just to be sure .The shelves are not removable as the gas coils are intergrated into them to assure even freezing. The compressor is located on the bottom back and is slanted as to make it difficult to place food there. I purchased this as my fridge/freezer is countertop depth which means I purchased a 3/4 space refrigerator .I was tired of turning off the ice maker to make room for frozen food. This is working out well so far as it does what I expected and the food is easy to access unlike in a chest type unit. It evens includes an ice scraper. The unit appears well constructed. I am unable to comment on energy consumption as it is new . So happy with this purchase. I wish I included a wire basket for the bottom space. The reason I rated it 4 stars is because the website will not allow me to register it. I even wrote to customer service and received a benign response. I will continue to attempt to register the unit and if I receive actual help will gladly up my rating.

Make strange noises like boiling water. can’t get the ice cream as hard as it should be. Also, we have ice forming inside the unit. We may open the door on this unit twice a day. This unit has increased the amount of our electric bill somewhat. All in all, if the unit was doing its job correctly, problem free, I would say we made a good buy. But under the circumstances I’m not so sure.
