Works, but is not a direct replacement even though Amazon said it was. – This works, but it did not fit directly into the filler tube on the back of my refrigerator. I was able to cut off the end of my tube, but then it allowed too much water to enter the tray and it overflowed into the ice bucket. As it turned out, that part I had to cut off to connect to this valve had only a tiny hole (maybe 1/16″) for water to enter. My solution was to turn the water on only a tiny bit so the water did not overflow. It took a little trial and error, but now works.

Perfect compatability! – The Maytag repair company wanted $115 for a service trip fee. Plus $85/hour for labor. Plus the markup on the part, $65. I just pulled the fridge out, removed the cardboard rear cover, turned off the water like the diagram and instructions said taped to the back of the fridge. Two screws held the pump on, unplugged the little power cord, like the diagram said, disconnected the water line with a wrench, disconnected the lower water line by simply pushing up on the blue plunger to release the Schrader valve teeth, stuck the line onto the new pump, reversed the steps, done. 7 minutes total, and I’m no expert. Had my daughter test the water by filling up a sippy cup while I watched for any drips. Zero. And the new pump was quiter! I do suspect using off brand filters create back flow into the pump once 6 months rolls around. So only OEM from now on for me. IMO

Great Value and quality part. – The part was exactly the same part and part number. Not sure if their is an updated part for this. Part was very simple to remove and install.

  4. H. A (verified owner)

Made it work for a fridge it wasn’t really meant for. – It works just fine. I had to get an adapter to size down the tube since my fridge had a smaller tube built in. The whole thing did not fit in the allotted space for a valve, but since my fridge is pretty old and the OEM part is super expensive, I made it work.

Works as expected – Barely been working for a few days. Hard to gauge quality and ir durability. So far it’s working fine.

  7. L. B (verified owner)

Replacement valve/pump – This is the same as original, manufacturer, part # etc. This part was the the cheapest price of all the sites that I could find selling these parts.

Be advised … – It was frustrating to find the inlet and outlet were different sizes. One is 1/4″ and the other is 5/16″. I installed it anyway and it works perfect, fits perfect too, aside from aforementioned.

Saved hundreds of dollars! – My less than 2-years-old Whirlpool refrigerator started leaking water, so I placed a service call. The initial cause was misdiagnosed and a part I didn’t need was ordered before the pandemic began and took more than 12 months to arrive. This was actually a good thing because in the meantime I realized the real problem was this valve. I was able to do the repair myself, while the original “repair” was quoted at more than $400! This part, a YouTube video, and about 15 minutes and the issue was resolved!
