Replaced an old GE electric cooktop and was a much better fit than expected – So upon reading reviews I was expecting more issues installing this. I replaced an existing 1960’s electric cooktop that was falling apart. The shape and size was odd enough that GE sells a specialized steel adapter for their modern cooktop to replace these old units. Turns out this unit is almost a perfect fit. I had to install some 1/2″ boards on the left and right, and some 1/4″ boards along the front and back to give the cooktop something to rest on and it covers the hole completely.
