Double check the measurements and ensure that your exterior location can fit the entire unit. It functions as expected and provides plenty of suction for our range. Noise is greatly reduced since the unit is outside. Some communities require makeup air when using a vent of this power. Keep it in mind when sizing your hood. Overall quality product and simple install once placement is confirmed and the hole is drilled.

Lucky to find it here – A quality Broan product I couldn’t source anywhere locally. Pricey and hard to install but needed it for the Brian hood my wife wanted.

Not a very happy purchase experience – It blows out a lot of air; we purchased the first one on year 2013, it’s been working well for the past 6 years. we purchased the second one on year 2018, the second one failed to work in less than three months. The company tried to replace blower motor, and also impeller, the blower failed to work again in another two months. And the company refused to replace the whole assembly. We had to pay a new one out of our pocket and it is not reasonable.

Almost sucked the dog off the floor – This thing is great. And for anyone looking for blowers for Viking or Five Star hoods, this is exactly the same model for less than half the price. You will need to buy or make the sheet metal cover and cord. I went and got one from Viking parts because I needed it right away, but cutting a piece of wire and a small square of sheet metal should be easy for anyone who is handy

Im happy with this blower – So far this is working very well. A little difficult to install for me but it got done. We installed it as a down draft so its on the side of the house where nits not easily seen. Quiet too.

OK venthood exhaust fan but could be better. – This external blower is not the latest exhaust technology but it does the job. This is a squirrel cage blower in a fairly primitive sheet metal housing. Parts have sharp edges. Mesh screen and damper were crude. I would have bought a Fantech, turbine type blower but didn’t have the right cfm in the 10″ duct size. I know from my latest leaf blower and cooling fans that better blower designs can be built to run quieter and more efficiently.
