Strong, when modified… – This pedestal is pretty good,, if you change out the metal tubing that comes with it. It is only good for the smallest of appliances. Do yourself a favor and go to your local hardware store, and buy 2 4′ sections of 1×1 aluminum tubing. Take the overall width of the footprint of your machine and subtract 2 inches and cut. Then pound them into the corner brackets and you are good to go. Maybe add a self tapping screw to one of the predrilled holes on the bottom, and you are good to go. Do that, and this pedestal will hold up a truck!

You can make it work – The description says it can be expanded to 29.5 inches (75cm) but if you do that, the aluminum bars holding it to the corners will have less than 1 inch of the bar inside of each end. This is not enough to hold 440 lbs. I would say that 30 lbs at full extension is about all it will hold up. The only way it will hold 440 lbs is when the unit is fully collapsed and that size was too small for my refrigerator. The aluminum bars are 1-inch square bars that slide into the corner piece made of heavy-duty plastic and that snug connection gives the stand its strength. The aluminum bars are very very thin and upgrading the quality of the bars will give a lot of strength to the stand. As-is, this unit would not hold the Galanz refrigerator I have pictured.

Surprisingly simple and strong – I used this stand to lift my full size dryer off of the basement floor in case of flooding. I was pleasantly surprised by the simplicity and strength of the stand. The plastic corners are thick and seem well made. They’re held together by four square metal tubes. The tubes themselves are thin and don’t seem particularly strong. However, the dryer has a foot in each corner (like most appliances) that rest directly on the stand’s corners and transfer weight strait down to the stand’s feet, meaning there’s very little weight on the metal tubes. As long as your appliance has a foot in each of its four corners, this stand should hold it well. I would be less confident about using it for a heavy item that places weight anywhere other than the corners.
