Love it! – We bought this machine in July because our ice maker in our fridge couldn’t keep up with our demand for ice. We have always wanted one but didn’t really want to spend the money. Until now! This thing is a game changer! Why did we wait so long?? Fast Forward a few months and it stopped working. Seriously such a sad day. I reached out to their warranty department and heard back quite quickly. They had me do a few troubleshooting items to see if something was possibly plugged. They asked for a video of what it was doing so I sent that off and heard back later that day and it was determined it couldn’t be fixed so the sent me a replacement. Told me it would take about a week to get to me. It showed up 3 days later so that was nice! Their customer service department has been amazing! Would recommend buying this ice machine.

Extremely happy with this purchase – I have been very happy with this ice maker since buying it 4 months ago. After a lifetime of having an ice maker in the freezer, it took a bit of mental gymnastics to understand that this isn’t a freezer and it isn’t going to hold ice at-the-ready, day in and day out.

Wonderful Ice Maker and Great Customer Support! – The ice maker makes nugget ice like Chic Fill-A ice. It is very easy to use, and clean. We use filtered water with it, and run the extended cleaning weekly (takes about 5 minutes). We had an issue with our original ice maker after a couple of months, and contacted their support. They sent us a replacement quickly. I highly recommend this ice maker and the customer service!

Dead in 7 months – The ice maker is quicker to produce the first pellets than the GE Opal and would be quieter but ours had a major issue with oil canning noise from the left side of the chassis. I put a little tungsten putty above the area that was making so much noise and that quieted it until the putty drifted down some. Then it got noisy again. I was ok with pushing the putty up every couple of days to keep it quiet but one day I got home to find the machine unplugged. My wife said it started making a ‘god-awful’ noise. I turned it on and could never duplicate it.

Well the taotronics one started leaking water all over the place. I actually was right next to it when I heard a loud plastic breaking type noise and then it started leaking really bad. I took the side/stainless cover off to see where the leak was coming from and saw that it was leaking from where the ice presumably was being formed before dropping into the basket. This was a plastic cylinder thing covered by foam insulation. I determined that it was not fixable. So I ordered this model AND a four year kitchen appliance warranty from Assurian.
