User Manual needs to be written better and in laymen terms. – Purchased Ice Maker several months ago when we started finishing our basement. Everything came well packaged. because we were gone the months of Feb & March ice maker didn’t get installed until middle of April. we had it installed by a plumber. Ran clean out ice and then started making ice. Also Hooked up drain lines directly to our drain in floor. It’s a little noisy when making ice but not to bad. First & Biggest problem, and this probably comes from a first time ice maker buyer, the ice starts melting soon after making ice. Would never have ordered if I knew this, this should be added to your description on line. better info and in layman terms in manual. Your info says you can control the thickness and how often ice is made by using the – or + sign. the – only goes to 0. what is the best setting to get the best ice? also what does the M and the H mean and what do Happens when I change them. (I presume the M is for Minutes and the H is for hour.) Again what do i accomplish by changing these and what is the best setting on these to obtain the best ice. Still contemplating returning. Does Rovsun make a model the also keeps the ice frozen after it’s made?

Never Worked – Plugged in new, never worked out of the box. Seems like several folks have said same thing though was fooled by 4* rating. Manual written in broken English and like reading sandscrit. Sounded good in commercial toughness and right size. Noted that there are about 4 models on Amazon (Rovsun, Costzon, Homelabs, Vovor, Happybuy, etc) all claiming different manufacturer names, yet all look exactly the same with same setup and control panel on front. Typical Chinese garbage in the appliance space. Would suggest going with the Scotsman, Horizaki?, or Manitowoc. Yes, more expense and parts but decent. Icemakers prone to issues and cleaning, just part of the gig. suggest whatever you get, you scrap any plastic or speed hookups and use a long braided stainless line for no leak and use fiber enforced drain pipe with glue on end you put on drain hole with clamp, then make tail long to go into your drain pipe quite a way to avoid leaks and to allow you to get unit in and out of your cabinet space to service and clean without disrupting everything. Avoid the $500 “commercial” units you hope would work well. They did give in to the refund after a few emails of broken English telling me to check manual and if water was on and what error code was going on. When you buy, also note dimensions for under counter and depth, as well as what types of ice you’re getting (cube, flake, nugget, or gourmet ice). I suggest gourmet for better last in drinks and coolers but note that the bigger the cube, the bigger the clunk noise. if you keep ice in it, the clunk is not noticeable. For you sound folks, put basic insulation batting or styro board on sides to keep it down. Don’t block top, back, or bottom for air flow. drill hole saw hole in rear middle of compartment under counter to allow unit decent air pull for compressor fan so you don’t burn out fan and it helps compressor be more efficient and cools coils. good luck.

Convenient Ice Machine – Ice machine is perfect for parties and having extra ice on hand. Needs to be in a location that does not get over 80 degrees or will not last long.

Not bad for the price – I cannot comment on the RELIABILITY (only had a week)… But the only complaint I have (which has been noted by others) : 1) if the unit is almost empty, the ice drop WILL make you jump (loud). The good news is the cubes all break apart. 2) IF the machine is over 1/2 full, the ice drop is pretty quiet…. BUT the cubes really stick together (suggest ALUMINUM or stainless ice-scoop).

Fantastic ice maker for the price point – This is a great little machine which puts out more ice than I will ever need in my home in a very small footprint. I shopped appliance stores in my area and found ice machines in a very similar form factor, but the ice mechanism was the half-dozen crescent mechanism that fridge-freezers come with and that’s not what I wanted.
