Good Rechargeable Floor and Carpet Sweeper – My husband and I purchased one of these Shark Cordless Carpet Sweepers and couple of years ago. At the time I mentioned to my husband not to leave it plugged in all the time. Just charge it up and unplug until it needs charging again. Right around that time I needed several surgeries on my knee and was out of commission for a long while , so my husband took care of the household chores which was really helpful so I couldn’t rag on him about plugging in a carpet sweeper. Last fall he passed away suddenly and I downsized to a smaller place where they had just installed light beige carpets (UGH hard to maintain). I have a bigger vacuum I use weekly and I have cleaning ladies come in every couple of weeks to do the heavy cleaning and wanted to use the Shark regularly around the cat’s litter box, the kitchen and a quick run over the carpeting especially fuzz and things that tend to show on a light carpet. I found what I didn’t want, which was that every time I used the Shark the battery would discharge really fast. I tried another brand whose name is synonymous with floor care. I had the sweeper a week and a half and it stopped working. I performed trouble shooting and charging to no avail. I reading some of the reviews, I realized that others have had the same problem with that particular sweeper, so I decided to go back with the Shark. I checked the reviews which were somewhat confusing. Some reviewers said that it didn’t get along baseboards while others said it did. some said it only picked up going forward and when you pulled it back, it put what you had just swept up back on the floor. Well I have been using it for about a week and here is my experience so far with it. It stated in the directions what I already knew, to charge it fully and then leave it unplugged until it needs charging again, which I did. It picks up well both on my hardwood kitchen floor, my tile bathroom floor and carpeting through the rest of the place. I ran it along baseboards and it seemed to pick up well. I especially noted that it picked up well along my electric baseboard heat in the bathroom in particular. I pushed and pulled it forward and back and as of now I didn’t notice that it put anything that it had just swept up back onto the floor. It also has run about 40 minutes in total over the week and it does not need to be recharged, yet. So far I am pleased with the performance. If there is any change in my evaluation of how well it works, I will come back in and update it. This also has an easier way to empty the dirt cup, than the previous Shark model that we owned. Also several reviewers complained about the suction, but since this is a carpet SWEEPER and not a VACUUM I don’t believe that it has suction so to speak of . Rather there is a rotating brush bar that sweeps the debris up into the dirt cup. I hope this is helpful to someone because I literally spent hours researching the different sweepers to see which one was the best for my needs.

Happily cord free – I have had this sweeper for about month now & it has worked out as I hoped. I have mostly non carpet floors with a few throw rugs, no pets, no kids and no shoes allowed in the house. For my purposes this sweeper (not a vacuum as many people seem to confuse it’s purpose with) does a good job of picking up compared to any other sweeper I have owned. But this has several features that I really love & have make it worth the higher cost. 1 I am tall and the handle is tall so I do not need to lean over; 2 the feature that allows the handle to “break” so that it can go under things like my bed with out me having to bend down works great; 3 emptying it is a breeze withe the way it detaches and 4 my most favorite no cord. I have been able to clean my entire house and some quick pick ups in between with one charge. Other have complained that it is cheap plastic or that it doesn’t pick up. Personally I haven’t seen anything now a days that isn’t made of plastic. And this is a sweeper not a vacuum cleaner. If you have rug, pets or a lot of dirt it probably is not for you. However, if you mainly have no carpets or need it for quick pick up I think it works great. And as with any appliance you need to take care of it and it should. Time will only tell if all the parts with hold up and the battery will last. I am hopeful that with proper care it will.

Convenient – I love this when I don’t need to drag my full-size vacuum out. It’s great especially for quickly going over the kitchen floor at night. It’s light and has a swivel motion which is great. My only con would be I just wish it had a touch more power.

– It was a gift to my daughter. She likes it very much. Mentioned how easy to clean the broom. Personally, I own the previous model for more than one year and like it very much. Cleaning canister and filter is not so easy as the one I gave my daughter but both are well made, easy to use and strong enough at carpet cleaning jobs. Would purchase again when needed.
