Perfect fit and good adhesive – The adhesive on the original sweepers on my Record Doctor was letting go and the felt was partially blocking the port. It seemed like the cleaning fluid was softening the adhesive, as I could slowly slide it back and it would stay for a while once it thoroughly dried. These replacements have been staying put, even though some long cleaning sessions.

Great machine, overpriced parts – Ive had my Record Dr. V for probably 5 years now. I use a MoFi brush and L’Art du Son cleaning fluid. The Record Dr. does a great job of cleaning my LPs but the replacement parts are very expensive. I lost the platter and bearing and they charged me $30 for a replacement and these are pretty steeply priced for 2 soft strips and a plastic installation tool. But I guess its not really a big deal considering you don’t have to replace these often.

Adhesive “spent” – I needed to replace The sweeper felt for my disc doctor. Unfortunately, the adhesive was so adherent to the backing that pulling it off pretty much stretched it out of shape. I’m not sure how these are being stored.

So the process may not be as easy as described in the directions – It was very difficult to remove the felt strip that came with the Record Dr. V when I first bought it. So the process may not be as easy as described in the directions. I needed a razor blade and Goo Gone to get the prior strip off and the surfaced cleaned/ready for the replacement strip to be put on.
