      Do not purchase –  The ice maker ran great for about 5 days then started to make horrible screeching sound (see attached video) that lasted 10 minutes then started defrost mode. It would stay in defrost for about 30 minutes. After defrost mode it would make a hand full of ice (see picture.). Then it wod start the screching process all over again. After the 5th day it never made more than one basket of ice. I would have given it all no stars.

      2 months and still going strong – After 2 Opal ice makers, I decided to try Newair. So far I am impressed with the operation and speed at which this machine makes ice. It’s easy to clean. The ice chute is very accessible for cleaning. As a bonus, I was able to attach the external tank from my Opal machine to the Newair. Works like a charm! The only time I remove the ice bucket is for cleaning which I do once a week. I highly recommend this ice maker.

Maybe we will even use it for healthy snacking. I have dumped the ice into my freezer ice compartment and it came out not stuck together and a nice texture. Super easy and looks stylish!
