Plastic is there by design. Good pad for picking up dust and dog hair. – This pad picked up a considerable amount of dog hair and dust. The plastic portion is by design and plays a role in creating the “electrostatic force to capture dirt, dust, and pet hair”.

Great Value and Very Effective – I originally ordered the re-usable pads thinking I would save some money and just wash them. We have two dogs (basset hound and Weimaraner) and run this thing every day with our M6 (after using our vacuuming Roomba), both dry and wet-mopping. It is sooo gross to have to wash the pads; you have to literally pick the hair and debris off the pads and it’s not the pad’s fault. So in the end, I am super happy to use the disposable pads and have the satisfaction of seeing the dirt and dropping it in the garbage! At approximately $1 each vs $12-13 each for the re-usable, it’s a no brainer to use the disposable (I doubt I could even get 12-15 or more uses out of the re-usable pads anyway.
