Nice little icemaker – Received icemaker and had time to check over thoroughly and let sit level for a couple of days to stabilize. Also had ordered a water filter and installed a dedicated water line. Also ordered a stainless steel table heavy enough to support the weight of the icemaker to sit the unit on. Unit is sitting in a separate tiled room just off the kitchen/dining area, so no issue with noise, although I did not notice any excessive noise as others had mentioned in reviews. One thing I did notice is there is quite a bit of heat that comes front the front vent, but not an issue in our case based on location. Ran quite a bit of water through the carbon filter (into a bucket) to clear prior to hooking up to the unit, then discarded the first 3 or so drops of ice to clean the ice trays themselves of any manufacturing debris. We did notice frost accumulating on the top front area within a couple of days. The seal fits fine so not sure why this is happening. To help remedy this, when I remove the ice bucket to get a large quantity out to make tea, we use a paper towel and manually scrap whatever excess frost off we can. We will totally defrost monthly (maybe sooner) to help eliminate any issues. Overall, seems to be a good, simple icemaker for the money. We purchased to supplement our icemaker in the refrigerator which frequently hangs up because of ice frozen together and other times just no ice with no explanation, plus icemaker is very difficult to remove to check on problems (Maytag brand-love the refrigerator though!)
