Measurements not correct – Opening is 10 1/4 before installing, once the screws are in place, the opening is 10″. The fan insert PM390SSP that specs show to be 10 3/16″ is actually 10 1/4″ over the rivets that hold the 10 3/16 together. Still planning how I will fit the 10 1/4″ fan into the 10″ opening.

Didn’t fit – Triple check measurements. This item was supposed to fit a 30” vent hood blower as it was an add on item. My contractor had to cut the metal and retro fit this to accommodate my blower.

A must have for DIY vent hoods – My husband is a novice wood worker who took on the challenge of building our own vent hood. He bought this peice (which fit our appliance perfectly), then framed the base of the hood around it as a template. It is a must if you are installing the vent we did as it will prolong the life of your hood by taking its fare share of the hot water and grease steam instead of a wooden base for a hood.

That your ventilator and metal liner are compatible. – To install into a wood hood

Actually fit. Wasn’t awfully expensive. Measurement is misleading. – I had to replace the fan and insert in my over the range fan setup recently due mice falling into it and dying. I can get into why that was happening here but it isn’t really relevant to the review. Lets just say whoever installed the original really half assed it and I’m still living with some of the consequences as a result. I decided to replace everything since the old one had some rust and obviously was gross.

Fan vent housing – I like the fan van housing and the fan that went with it,it serve the purpose for the application

Perfect for it’s purpose but…. – My cabinet maker found it to be a bit bulky for the size and depth of our cabinets. Which are standard depth and go all the way to the ceiling. (No greasy dust catcher on top of my cabinets) The liner was going to cause the vent cabinet to stand out disproportionately more than the cabinets themselves. I preferred not quite as obvious an incline and did not want a “chimney look”. This way it has a more subtle, seamless appearance.
