Just OK – This replaced another Broan that was about 15 years old. Slightly better design and position of fan but suction is still only fair at best. Unit is NOTICABLY lighter than the one it replaced. Metal is obviously thinner to the point of feeling a little flimsy. It is shipped with halogen bulbs which are replaceable. Many units have built-in LEDs that would be hard to replace. The halogens got so hot you couldn’t touch the metal on the range hood. They also have a GU10 base, so you have to hunt for an LED replacement. GE reveal worked great and much cooler than the halogens. This unit was not my first choice. We ordered two Empava range hoods that were built better and flowed much more air locally and one from Amazon. All three came in damaged. Ultimately this is the one we settled on that was available. My wife was really tired of doing without for several weeks. One thing we do really like is the simple switch design for fan and lights.

Best hood for the kitchen I have bought. Easy to install!!! – I love how easy to install this extractor is. I was able to do it by myself without not help thanks to their easy install kit. Works great and it looks great. The two lights are superb and let you everything very clear while you are cooking. The extractor is also great the two speeds work great. The noise is much better than my old one and you can see how it does attract the vapor. I bought the filters as mine does not have a pipe/dutch to the exterior and it just works fantastic. I am very glad I bought it and I have recommended it to several of my friends and family. It’s just great in my opinion! The noise is acceptable for the sucking power of the fan. You don’t notice much on the low speed, but on the higher you do, but again what you get in return is true power.

Charcoal filters are darn expensive, otherwise hood is good – Great looking hood, low noise, awesome suction. But if you are installing for recirculation, 40 bucks for a pair of charcoal filters?? This is outrageous. I think I’ll make my own charcoal filters using wire mesh and cut to fit charcoal sheet for 5 bucks.
