Buttons stick, but easy to fix. – Clean look, fit well in the hood that I made. Only negative is that the buttons rub the circular holes and do not function. Quick fix was to drill larger diameter holes, problem solved. I gave it a four star for this reason.

Very strong, very loud. Cheap switch assembly – The unit really pulls the air out while we cook. No more kitchen smells. However, less than two weeks after install the push-button assembly is already messed up. It sorta works but have play with it to get any results. I would wire past it to wall switches but I was told it would void the UL listing. Bummer.

Buyers should note that this unit requires 6inch ducts – pretty large and somewhat more difficult to work with than the 4 inch dryer ducts. Makes a lot of noise but not out of proportion to the amount of air moved. Installation instructions were pretty minimal.

Powerful Range Hood but! – Very nice range hood but somewhat poorly designed as to where the controls are located. You literally have to find them since they are hidden under the hood. You have to place you head underneath to see what buttons to push.

Works great. – We got the MODEL: PM500SS. Yes, the unit is loud, but not any louder than any other units I’ve ever had. It does a really good job clearing the steam, gases, heat, smoke, etc. I’d trade function over sounds level any day! Amazon had the unit for less than 1/2 the price the big box stores did. I was skeptical, but happy once the unit arrived. It’s a sub $300 vent, not a $400+ vent so I was happy to to pay less than $300. It’s kinda a cheap looking vent but does the job well.
