downdraft install – I installed this downdraft in an island with a regular slide in range. I used a blower from the previous range that was there but had to move it into the basement which required re-piping of the intake and exhaust vents and also had to rewire it. If the downdraft motor assembly did not stick out towards the range I could have mounted it where it should actually be but now it is 1 1/2″ further back. It still works but not as efficient as it could be if it were the 1 1/2″ closer. The downdraft works very well and I am happy with it and normal installation would be a breeze. Although I don’t think this downdraft was worth the money we paid but it was the cheapest I could find for this rental unit.

would have been perfect for my island where my stove sits – After about a year of usage, the hood stopped working. Before that, the unit constantly came off track. Would advise against purchasing this unit. The design if it had worked, would have been perfect for my island where my stove sits. Looking for other options.

Good simple unit, a little difficult to install. – I purchased this to replace a failed DACOR RV30 that had a blown circuit board. Since it was to replace another unit, this unit needed to fit into the hole in the granite counter top that already existed. To product and instructions assume you are installing and cutting a new hole in the counter top. The Broan unit was about an inch narrower than the existing hole, allowing it to fall through. I cut up some wood to frame it up underneath and support the unit from inside the cabinet. Since the duct work is underneath you have to mount on the sides of the unit where the power cord gets in the way. The installation instructions don’t offer any help on how the mounting brackets should be installed. The duct connection is also rigid, making it difficult to mate with existing duct work. The manufacturer should not assume the unit will be a new installation. Adjustable mounting top brackets, cosmetic valences and flexible duct connectors would have been nice. I used this with the existing DACOR REMP3 remote blower which worked well; on/off and speed controls work fine. I get the feeling many of the fancier units out there fail because of blown circuit boards. I like this unit because it is simple. It doesn not have a circuit board and uses only simple switches and the motor to operate.

Silent beauty – Small, thin, fabulous. Easy to work and great to look at. No bells and whistles….just class. A great addition to the Bosch stovetop.

I had to return item – when I received item it was physically damaged and when I plugged it in to test it, it didn’t work. The carrier must have dropped i several times, because the box was damaged in areas. The process of return however was no problem and easy but I am still waiting on refund. The date returned was May 19th

Order twice both broken… – I order this product the first one the box was a little messed up. Inside the packing was in peices and the vent was bent and parts where everywhere. So return wanted a new one so the second one the box was in good shape but when I opened the box it looked like it was thrown down a hill so I sent it back the second time and spent real money on a much better one. I tried.
