Decent blower, not quite as good a sucker – Light enough to operate for a period of time without being uncomfortable. Does a decent enough job blowing grass and leaves. Sucking things up is a bit more hit or miss. It was able to suck dry leaves and pine needles out of landscaping rocks pretty well without sucking up the rocks. Clumps of grass should be avoided, as it jammed it up fast. Collection bag is small compared to a wired unit I had before, but that bag was meant to rest on the ground, this bag is hooked to the unit, so you’ll be supporting the weight. You’ll just have to empty frequently.

Very good unit within its published limitation – I’ve had a Black & Decker LSWV36B cordless leaf blower (comes with mulch unit, but no battery) for about a month. I have found it to be very effective, within the published limitation, i.e., “Hard surface sweeper, not recommended for use in grass” (it has proven to be only slightly effective in grass, so, don’t get rid of your corded heavy-duty blower for big jobs and clearing leaves on your lawn). But the unit is great for quick and easy cleanup on driveways, sidewalks, patios, porches, etc., anywhere with a firm surface. And of course it’s much easier to use―within its limitations―than the traditional corded blower: “just grab it and go”; no cord to have to uncoil, then get tangled up in shrubs, and/or guide behind you, and then recoil again―all time-consuming and annoying; comparatively light weight; relatively quiet; the power adjustment from 1 – 6 conserves the battery; it’s smaller and easier to store. I’ve also found that I can use the blower several times before the battery runs out. The battery re-charge unit is compact and re-charge time is quite good.

Great for home use – Good for the price & for home use, light work.

Good Suction – Two of the hoses were jammed together. I was not strong enough to pull them apart and I had to have my son do it. Otherwise, the product is great
Z. D (verified owner) –
No. Like a broom for lightweight blowing. – I have the plug in version and it great. This is a disappointment in suction and vacuum power. This is a bit faster than a broom on light items.

Excellent, with one small (solvable) issue – I use this as a vacuum (not as a blower) and it works quite well. It’s very light and easy to carry. Fairly strong suction. The material is sucked up the long (and very sturdy) plastic tubing, into a component with rotating “blades” which provide the suction (and, I think, act as a mulcher, breaking up large items into smaller pieces), and from there it is all sucked into the bag. The reason for 4 stars, rather than 5, is that sometimes, when you switch off the motor, small pieces of material drop back out onto the ground. This happened, for example, when I was vacuuming our driveway to remove pine needles that had fallen when we were discarding our Christmas tree. They get sucked into the barrel, and are held there – but drop out as soon as you shut off the motor. It’s as though they are being held inside the plastic barrel by a suction-created vortex, but are NOT being sucked into the collection bag. As soon as you shut off the motor, the vortex is lost and the small pieces fall out. I’ve learned to (mostly) avoid the problem by keeping the motor running, raising the unit so that the plastic barrel is about 45 degrees above-horizontal, and simultaneously rotating the unit so that the barrel is at the top (bladed bit & motor at the bottom). This (I think) causes the small bits of material to move to the top part of the barrel, then into the “mulcher”, then into the bag. Bottom line: if you’re looking for super-strong suction, look elsewhere; but if you want a light and reasonably effective yard vacuum, this is ideal.

It’s NOT electric! – I have been using the B+D blower/vac all summer and it has been a great addition to the B+D hedge trimmer, string trimmer and chain saw. I love all of them! As long as you understand that this battery operated tool is NOT going to perform the same as a gas powered or even electric model. it is meant for use on hard surfaces such as a deck, patio, driveway etc. and not in grass. I purchased this exactly for that use and it has been near perfect. After cutting the grass or trimming along hard surfaces this works great to blow any leaves, loose grass, stray mulch or sand. If you want to use this for a lot of leaves in grass or to mulch large piles of leaves you will not be happy with its performance. I have only used the vac feature a couple of times and it works fine as long as you are picking up loose material on a hard surface. It will not pickup wet leaves in grass. The only negative I have is that the air intake for the blower is on the left side which means if using it in your right hand you have to keep it away from your leg or it will stop blowing. It does have multiple speeds but unless you need to use it for more than 20-30 minutes I am not sure why you would not have it on the highest setting. The 40 v battery life on this any my other tools is great. I have never needed more than one battery to finish all of my trimming and cleanup. For me 30 minutes is just enough. One of my batteries is two years old and I see no difference in how long it lasts or holds a charge when not in use. I would definitely buy this product again or recommend it as long as you know its limitations.

Missing parts – Came in sealed box with missing parts. I blame Covid, B&D is not at fault (LOL)…
