No Light! – You need a light or else you have to have a flashlight what a haste.

Saved us during Covid + fire – Fires in 2020 swept through our part of Oregon and destroyed houses all the way to the turn off of our street. We were lucky that our house was standing. There were burnt leaves littering our yard and waves of burnt pine needles in our driveway, like some hellish pattern left in beach sand. Sadly, we were just about to start canning plum and berry jam. The berries were frozen from summer and the plums were freshly picked in boxes in the garage (the last plums our old tree gave us). The stench of ash and soot we had to get out of the carpet was nothing compared to the foul odor in the garage as the remaining 10*5-gallon+ buckets worth of plums had fermented into stinky alcohol balloons covered in mold and several dozen gallons of berries were reduced to sauce, mixed with rotting meat from the old upright freezer. 16 days of no power at it’s finest.
